We are so excited you decided to visit our website! We hope you get a glimpse at what it is like being an AOII at UTM and see what all we can achieve as a sisterhood!
Our mission statement that we hold very close to our hearts is "Women enriched Through Lifelong Friendship."
Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on the ideals of Character, Dignity, Scholarship, and College Loyalty.
Hello,
I’m Ellary Gillon, president of Tau Omicron. I would like to welcome you on behalf of the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi. Tau Omicron has been apart of the University of Tennessee at Martin’s campus since 1966, making it 52 of the very best years. I would like to give a little recap of our year. We moved into our beautiful new home thanks to our dedicated alumni. We raised money for the Weakley County Backpack Program, Weakley County Carl Perkins Center, St. Jude, and the Arthritis Foundation. In Fall 2017, we welcomed 31 awesome new members. We competed in multiple Homecoming events, Greek Week events, and All-Sing. Here recently our very own Morgan Martin was crowned Miss UTM and will compete for the title of Miss Tennessee. Our chapter’s motto is “Together for one.” I strongly believe in this because our chapter is all so different, but we have one thing in common: a love for AOII. We are so excited that you are interested in AOII and the Greek Life community. Feel free to check out our website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to learn more about us. We look forward to meeting you! Alpha Love, Ellary Gillon, Chapter President of Tau Omicron |
Character and Dignity
"Whether you meet an AOII in class, throughout recruitment, off campus, or even after graduation, she is sure to bring light to your life. Members of the fraternity are called to carry themselves with confidence as they represent our organization and treat everyone they meet with the utmost respect."

Stella George Stern Perry, Helen St. Clair, Elizabeth Heywood, and Jessie Wallace Hughan founded Alpha Omicron Pi on January 2, 1897 at Barnard College in New York. AOII began as a dream by these four women to continue their friendship throughout life and has grown into the sorority with the most active chapters in the country. We strive every day to be like our amazing four founders.

"We wanted a society that should continue our companionship through life, and extend the like joys to others, usefully, unselfishly and without pettiness. We wanted to enshrine, sublimate, and perpetuate our love and our unity through service worthy of these blessings, deserving to persist. We wanted a fraternity that should carry on the delightful fellowships and cooperations of college days into the workaday years magnanimously, both in school and afterwards."
